How to fill in a weekly timesheet

  1. Enter your start and end time for each day you worked. Leave days off blank.
  2. Add any unpaid break in minutes, such as 30 for a half-hour lunch.
  3. Add your hourly rate to see your estimated pay before taxes.
  4. Overtime is worked out on weekly hours. Under US federal law, most hourly employees earn 1.5 times their regular rate for hours over 40 in a week. Some states, such as California, also have daily overtime rules.

When you are done, use Print or save as PDF to keep a copy or hand it in.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate overtime for the week?

Add up all the hours you worked in the week. Hours over 40 are usually overtime and are paid at 1.5 times your regular rate. For example, 44 hours at $20 an hour is 40 × $20 = $800 plus 4 × $30 = $120, for a total of $920.

Is my timesheet saved?

Yes, but only in your own browser on this device. Nothing is sent to ClockMath. If you clear your browser data or use another device, the timesheet will be empty.

Can I print my timesheet?

Yes. Click "Print or save as PDF". To save a PDF, choose "Save as PDF" as the printer.

What if I work past midnight?

Just enter your real start and end times. If the end time is earlier than the start time, the calculator counts it as finishing the next day.

Does this show my take-home pay?

No. It shows gross pay before taxes and deductions. Your paycheck will be lower after taxes, insurance and other deductions.
